You're Right Where You're Supposed To Be

Everyone comes across those days, months, years when you just feel like your falling from the sky, you don't know how you got there or why, but you're falling. It's a big blur, it's rushing past you and gives you nothing to grab onto. These times can be dark, filled with anxiety and confusion. You probably don't deserve to be falling but you are, causing anger as well.

Sometimes its easier to keep falling like this. But that doesn't make it right.

It's a pretty silly move when you think about the fact that you're not actually falling. When everything is really, all in your control. You just have to reach for the ground and you'll find it there, right where it's supposed to be, and where it was all along.

You can make the decisions in your life. You are your own self, your own mind. That's the gift we were as humans were given, the thing that differentiates us from animals. Self awareness and the ability to make decisions for ourselves. We have the power to change a bad day into a good day, the power to manifest thoughts into actions and share the best of ourselves with others.

And instead of thinking of everything as an unknown, how about just trusting that you are right where you are supposed to be. Whether you have been through loss, trauma, heartbreak and challenges, instead of wondering why you are falling from the sky with all these heavy burdens, how about just letting go and reaching for the ground. Your feet will surely find the ground, right where you left it. Knowing that you can be and are right where you are supposed to be at this moment in your life is a much bigger feeling of comfort and strength than the pseudo comfort you feel when you allow yourself to keep falling.

The day you truly believe from the inside that you have the world to offer and deserve the world back then everything will happen at the right moments in order to continue to shape you into the product that you were destined to be. Whether the end product is someone worth the world or someone worth nothing is for you to decide and for you only.

Life holds beautiful things but they don't always come looking for you. Just like the ground that's there waiting for you, life and the beautiful things it has to offer is always waiting for you as long as you reach out to find it.

You are the product of years of growth, happiness, love, tears, laughter, fear and triumph. That product is priceless and you are the owner of this priceless item... Just like a diamond that has been shaped by time and nature to produce the most beautiful rock. You have to take care of it and share it only with people who will appreciate it for all its worth. Never allow a careless person to break it, snatch it right out of their hands and don't give it back to them! You are the owner and you decide exactly where it goes and what happens to it.

Bottom line: Love yourself, better yourself everyday, and learn from your mistakes and your experiences, good or bad. All of this will be part of your journey. Slow down, take time to cherish things, observe things, appreciate things... To be secure in oneself as a human being is by far the strongest weapon you can be armed with in life.

Whatever you are going through, whether it be extreme or mundane, remember you are right where you're supposed to be. All these moments will lead you to the next and in time you will be able to look back and see the reasons as to why you had been through those situations and how it molded you into the person you continue to grow to become.

She Loved Life and It Loved Her Right Back

Secret blanket forts
Laughing- out loud. but even louder
Star gazing till the dizzies come
Singing a song that doesn't have an end
Just knowing- that look. that smile. that frown.
Coloring with whatever colors we chose

Showing you my world. showing me yours.

                     Yours. Mine. Me. You. Ours...

What do you feel today? Turn them into words... It doesn't matter if someone else can or can't understand it... That's the beautiful thing. No ones world looks the same, but you can always invite someone in.

Lush Review

Lush in Love

Over the past few months I have discovered the lushie inside of me. Why I hadn't discovered Lush when so many people had already fallen in love with their products is a mystery to me. Long story short I am now a self proclaimed lushie and I love it.

Originally founded in the UK with it's first store in Dorset, Lush products are all handmade using products sourced from all around the world. Supporting fair trade in countries like Ghana and fighting animal testing all the while producing some of the most innovative and high quality products, it's no wonder why it has a whole following of loyal Lushies.

Probably my favorite products at the moment are the Bubbleroon bath bars inspired by the famous French macarons. Macarons being one of my favourite little sweet treats (which I will attempt to make one day!), the Bubbleroons are the perfect little bath bars to play homage to the famous French meringue confectionaries.

Green Bubbleroon, Rose Jam Bubbleroon and Yuzu & Coco

Rose Jam Bubbleroon was inspired by the creators trips to Turkey. It was there that they discovered Rose jam made from fresh rose petals which they used to create the scent for this pink bubbleroon. It contains extra virgin coconut oil, Fair tradea shea butter acting as the "ganache", rose oil, lemon oil and the exclusive rose absolute only found in Lush products, Rose jam bubbleroon is the perfect accompaniment to a sensual bath that will leave your skin feeling amazingly soft.

Green Bubbleroon is a bubblebar with a combination of lime, juniperberry and bergamot oil. I don't normally gravitate to citrus flavours so I'm glad that this came out in the bubbleroon collection as it has such a fresh dewy smell, not your typical lemon or lime smells but a more refreshing smell more like grass or fresh blend of herbs. Definitely a bubble bath that you could treat yourself to on a Saturday morning to invigorate you for the day ahead.

This is one of my favourite Lush products. Yuzu & Coco was inspired by the Japanese tradition of putting Yuzu orange peels into their baths to ward away evil spirits and rid them of colds and illnesses. It has an amazingly warm tropical scent that hugs you along with a whole heap of shea butter that softens your skin to leave it feeling soft and hydrated. It contains coconut absolute and grapefruit oil which gives Yuzu & Coco that warm and naughty scent, I can't stop smelling it and it's guaranteed to take you to that tropical island with a pina colada in hand.

I will be doing many more reviews of Lush and other products so make sure you keep an eye out!

It's so important to treat yourself at least once a week whether it be a bubbleroon filled bubble bath or a quite night in with candles and a face mask and relaxing music, make sure to give yourself some TLC as it will help you be the best you for the next week ahead.

Blast from the Past... Packed Lunches

It's so funny how when you're a uni student, all you do is buy food even though you're dirt poor. Then as soon as you start working and making money, it's back to packed lunches!
Not only to save money but also because there comes a point in your life where you realise you should probably ditch those packet noodles and start taking care of your body :)

Starting full time work, I'm trying to pack my lunches. There are many pros in doing so..
- Helps you save money $$
-Allows you to have better control of what goes into your body
-Improve your cooking skills ;)
and much more

I'll continually post up fresh and healthy lunch ideas to inspire you when creating your own packed lunches!

Reuben Sandwhiches
Made famous in New York, and also known as Dr. House MD's favourite sandwich, Reuben sandwiches are really easy to make!

Ingredients
Handful of corned beef or pastrami
1/2 cup of sauerkraut (German pickled cabbage) OR/ fried onions
Swiss cheese (I used egmont cheese)
2 Tspn butter
2 Tspn mayonnaise
3 pieces of Rye bread/or any brown bread

Method
1. Butter slices of bread and also spread mayonnaise on them.
2. Top each slice with swiss cheese and divide corned beef.
3. Using paper towel, squeeze out excess moisture from sauerkraut and divide among sandwiches.
4. Layer each layer of bread and your done!

(If your making this for lunch at home you can grill the sandwiches on a griddle pan on medium heat).

Wraps
Another lunch idea is simple and healthy wraps. I am trying to avoid white bread and wraps so stick to wholewheat and multigrain as it is higher in fibre and nutrients so it will keep you fuller for longer! Great for long days at work! And the great thing about wraps is that you can put whatever you like in them.

For my lunch I decided to go with...
Shaved ham
Pastrami
egmont cheese
baby spinach leaves
cucumber
alfalfa sprouts
cream cheese and sweet chili sauce
wholewheat tortilla

(But basically you can use any meat and vege combo you like. The more colourful the better and healthier your wrap will be).

Place everything on the wrap and roll it up. Slice in half on a diagonal so it's easier for you to eat and voila!

Snack ideas
Crackers and cheese/cream cheese
muesli bars
yoghurt to promote healthy digestive system :)
slices of fruit
carrot, cucumber, celery sticks with dips (e.g. hummus, cream cheese, peanut butter)
handful of nuts and dried fruit

TIP: Make sure you drink plenty of water. Add slices of lemon or cucumber or mint to make it more refreshing!
You could also try coconut water like I have, it is full of potassium so it will help re-hydrate you and keep your electrolytes maintained throughout the day!

If you find it hard to resist buying lunches, make sure to leave your wallet at home so you're not tempted to buy food.

Love your body xo

Electric Pink Summer Smoothies

My recipe for Electric Pink Summer Smoothies

My first smoothie for this week is an electric pink, superfood containing healthy concoction best served in pre-chilled mason jars!

Ingredients
1x banana
3x large strawberries
1x cup of baby spinach leaves
1x tbsp pistachio nuts (leave a little for topping)
1/4x cup of chopped beetroot
2x tbsp organic almond meal
1x cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2x cup pure coconut water
1x squeeze of lemon

Directions
Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until you get a smooth consistency. You can top it off with some chopped up pistachios for decoration.

Mason jars are such a cute way to serve your smoothies. They are sold in homeware stores and most supermarkets. Place them in the fridge for a couple of hours to chill the glass before serving your smoothies in them and they will keep your smoothies cool and fresh. They are also portable so you can take them to picnics, beaches and even for morning tea break at work!

The secret ingredient to getting the pretty pink colour is beetroot. It has been classed as a superfood and contains large amounts of soluble fibres, flavanoids and betacyanin. Betacyanin is the compound that gives beetroots it purple colour and is also a powerful antioxidant. It helps reduce blood pressure, prevents the formation of plaque in the artery walls and reduces the bad cholesterol levels in the body. Beetroot also helps relieve fatigue by boosting a person's energy levels. It's definitely a great pick-me-up at the end of tiring day or even a great energy booster to start your day with.

Try making this smoothie for breakfast this week! It's so quick once you cut everything up you can just blend it up into a smoothie. It's cute and colour and full of antioxidants and nutrients that your body will love. Enjoy!

Tonight
- Pack lunch for first day of internship and share recipe with readers.

"PLAY" Runway show

PLAY

"...High-energy runway show of modern and fun collections that play with colour, pattern and texture. Celebrating the joyful and the whimsical in fashion..."

What I love about up and coming designers is that they are open to playing with silhouettes and textures and colors. Because their main objective is to come up with original ideas that will identify them as a designer, you can guarantee that their designs will be of maximum originality. This allows you to be inspired with new ideas which you can incorporate into your own wardrobe.

All the models were wearing clog-style wooden platform heels with wide faux leather straps. Perfect heels  that would go with any summer outfit. You can wear them with a maxi dress to give you more height, with shorts, or with that summer dress when you are going out for dinner or drinks after a long day of tanning and swimming at the beach. Will definitely be buying a pair, or maybe two!

These heels and a variation of them can be found at any Cotton On store for a really good price:

Jelly shoes or jellies are a type of sandals made from PVC plastic. They were the "it" shoes to have back in the 80's and 90's. I used to have multiple pairs back when I was in primary school; colourless, colourful, glitter infused they are probably one of the first memories of any type of style back then...along with bindis, chokers and denim. Recently I have seen them making a come back.

The most surprising pair made an appearance on the runway. A gray pair of jellies with chunky heels! Jellies were cool to begin with but the heels just made them all that.

You can buy these shoes from any cotton on store:
Along with jellies:

Or if you want branded jellies, Nastygal, asos, topshop, urban outfitters, american apparel and many other online stores stock JuJu Wellies and Jellies:

Jelly beans, an Australian brand, specialise in jellies aswell:

Sweet Sweet Memories Made ♥

"Live life to the fullest, be present, and live in the moment..."
The best part is, it's so easy to do.
Do things that make you happy, do them with people you love and enjoy every minute of it.

My last week up in Auckland was truly a memorable one.
Here is what I got up to this week...

WICKED the untold story of the witches of Oz - The Broadway Musical
After purchasing the tickets on a whim just minute before the show. (Spontaneity is a wonderful thing). I was not prepared for the amazing production that was WICKED. Jemma Rix who played Elpheba the "Wicked" witch brought tears to my eyes with her beautiful voice in the song "The Wizard and I" along with other well known songs such as "popular" and "defying gravity." WICKED was an amazing production with talented cast and dazzling sets and not to mention a great plot. Felt like we went to Emerald City and back.

Ever since I was little I've always had a fascination with marine life. This week I certainly got my dose of marine life as my friends and I took a trip to Kelly Tarlton's a sealife aquarium. Nemo and his friends were there too.

My most memorable day this week and probably of life was when a herd of dolphins came out of nowhere and swam next to our boat. They are extraordinary animals with such intelligence, definitely my number one favourite non-domesticated animals. I wonder when my next encounter with them will be?  (would probably want to mute before watching the video... my squeals of excitment may make your ears ring).

Alongside these wonderful days, my days were filled with friends, food (lots of food), laughter and love. Hope your week was beautiful with sweet sweet memories made xo
